Date: Tuesday, 12 July 2016

Hi folks and well we’re all bit puffed again post Corporate Pursuit but another great day of racing was had by all involved – so a huge congrats to everyone who took part. There were personal bests and many new team time records set on a stack of occasions. Congrats to the Fire Service team one who were closely chased to first spot by Steve Rhodes Feature Cars and the SDHB Vaporizers who were proudly in third, but everyone has plenty to be proud of again this year.

A huge thank you to all the coaches who gave up their time to assist the teams, along with the many volunteers on the day who helped ensure things ticked along smoothly.

You can check out all the results and audit trails online here now.

Revised Track Schedule

Starting from next week there will be a revised track schedule going forward, which will include a second Track Start beginner adults session on Tuesdays 6-7pm

The sprint sessions, coached by Nick Harris on Mondays and Wednesdays 7-9pm are open to anyone, while due to popular demand we’ve introduced an open coached Endurance sessions with Kurt Black on Tuesdays 7-9pm.

We’re also running a post-Corporate Pursuit training session with Glen Thomson on Thursdays 8-9pm to help those new riders get a taste for other types of racing. We urge you to take advantage of this or to encourage colleagues etc to have a go.

Once the school term restarts there will be an advanced student session called the Rockets with Neil Jamieson 4-5pm Tuesdays, followed by a one hour 5-6pm secondary students session with Dave Beadle, along with the regular Wheelers and Flyers kids sessions with Fergus Canny.

Once squad training restarts U15s will be Mondays 4-6pm, U17s will be 4-6 Thursdays and U19s will be 6-8pm the same day.

Change to Club Racing
The biggest – and we think best – change to the track schedule is the combining of club racing into one session on Friday nights, from 6pm. There was a unanimous consensus from coaches at a recent meeting to do this. More details to come on this – work is underway to develop a regular racing schedule.

Prizegiving Recipients
It was an “intimate” gathering at the Ascot Park Hotel last week for the annual prizegiving awards and we thank everyone for the contribution and effort they have put into the club over the past 12 months. Again there were some very deserving nominees and we congratulate all the winners see the full list here. You can collect your certificates from the office, as well as your Road Champ medals.

AGM
The Annual General Meeting has been formally scheduled for July 27, 7.30pm, in the Sarah Ulmer Lounge. Nomination forms have been emailed out today or can be found here.
