Hello team for another windy wet week.
Well the chilly conditions certainly didn’t take the edge off the team times during the 10th Anniversary Corporate Pursuit on Sunday – what an absolute stunner of a competition it was too. There were so many hugely contested races where the times  were barely separable. Huge congrats to all the teams, the coaches and a big thank you to the volunteers for again making this such a success. On the day the Fire Service 1 team proved consistently strong throughout all of their races – every single one of them clocking in at 1.15 even in the final where they pipped out 2013 winners EIS in Division 1, meanwhile Ricoh proved too strong and prevailed over Environment Southland in Division 2.  Check out all Robyn Jordan’s great photos here – there’s certainly plenty

From your Executive
The Cycling Southland Corporate Pursuit is now behind us for another year. 10 years of inter-business rivalry in the south and the dedication put into this event by organisers Sier Vermunt and Julian Ineson, by competitors and their coaches appears to be as strong as ever.  Congratulations to all those involved.

The Cycling Southland AGM is almost upon us - 21 July 2015, at 7.30pm.  The Executive works behind the scenes in conjunction with management and staff to help keep our organisation ticking.  We have some board members exiting this year and it would be great to see some new team members on the board.  A wide range of expertise is preferable on a board such as ours and will help ensure success for Cycling Southland in the years to come.  If anyone is interested, even remotely, please contact one of the current Executive members and we can discuss with you what is likely to be involved.

Toni Green on behalf of the Executive

Winter Road Programme
The Winter Road Racing Programme is complete and racing gets underway this Saturday on the Rimu Wednesday Worlds graded circuit. Please check and note when you’re rostered for marshalling or managing races – this is only requested of you once each season and it is your duty to arrange a swap or replacement if you cannot do it. Please do not come to the office to sort it for you. Register online now and remember registering can determine whether or not a race can financially go ahead.

Holiday Programme
These school holidays we will be holding a holiday programme for those aged 10-15 on Wednesday 8 and 15 of July. There will be four one hour sessions from 1-2pm and 2-3pm both days and the cost is $6 per session. Register your kids now at office@cyclingsouth.org.nz or phone 219 9325.

One of our recent recruits to the junior ranks is desperate to get a medium sized road bike – around the $500 mark if at all possible. Please contact me office@cyclingsouth.org.nz and I can get conversations going. Thank you.

Well the winds are starting to swirl again so batten down the hatches tonight. Makes riding around in circles at the Velodrome all the more favourable!

Take care out there and we look forward to seeing our Corporate Pursuiters continue on the boards at our regular weekly sessions view here
