Hi everyone and it is certainly go, go, go here at the SIT Zero Fees Velodrome this week with the UCI Festival of Speed providing some truly outstanding results – not the least a NZ record from our very own Eddie Dawkins before checking into hospital read more here It was certainly an action-packed two days here at the track – and a great lead into our next four days of the 2104 Oceania Track Championships, which kicked off today from 10.30am and 6.30pm daily.

There’s some big names on the menu again this week with even more cycling stars over from across the Tasman read more here. So it is an exciting week ahead but also one tinged with sadness as we prepare to farewell our Super Man at the helm CEO Nick Jeffrey at the conclusion of Last Oceas session on Friday night. We wish Nick and his family all the best with the new adventure – it’s been an awesome ride with you on board!

Under 17 Squad
Additional sessions have been scheduled starting this week for the Under 17 Squad with 9am-11am this Sunday 24 and 9am -12pm on Sunday 1 December.

Junior Division 2014 Tour
Junior Division have finalised details for a tour in 2014. We are going to the Te Awamutu tour on the 26 & 27f April. Visit the link below for information about this Tour. There is then a 3 three-day break before road nationals start in nearby Cambridge (1 - 4 May) this will give us an opportunity to visit some attractions i.e. Rotorua,  the new Velodrome etc. Unfortunately neither of these events have an under 13 category so for the TA tour u13’s are welcome to race under 15. Nationals however for all age groups may be subject to Southland team selection (to be confirmed).  Fundraising is well underway and right now we are catering for the Oceania Track Champs so if you are wishing to benefit from our fundraising pool you need to get involved and we are short of contributors for this week so please contact Andrea on 027 345 9381 to help. This nets us a considerable amount of money so please get involved. Regards Alan.

Back to the track we go for this week folks and we look forward to seeing you down there supporting our Southland riders and NZ team. Already another record this morning for Eddie, Matt and Sam – way to go boys!! Read more here

This hot weather is the just the “bestest” for great results so watch this space
