Fresh from his naming in the New Zealand Junior World Championships team, Jeremy Presbury took out the weekly Wensley's Cycles Wednesday Worlds Cycling Southland club race this week.
Presbury has been named in the New Zealand team for the Junior World Championships, to be held in Invercargill in August.
He won the Wednesday Worlds A-grade race in a time of 44 minutes 15 seconds and headed home another Southlander named in the New Zealand junior squad, Tom Beadle, who finished second.
Jeremy's brother, Hamish Presbury, was third home.
Nick Kergozou won the B-grade section in a time of 47 minutes 17 seconds, ahead of Aaron Sinclair and Ray Robinson. Daryl Haggerty won the C-grade.
The Southland under-13 Southland road race championships were also held on Wednesday night, with Corbin Strong winning in a time of 35:27 minutes.
