Makarewa Race Report Saturday 22nd May

Without STMS this week it was decided to have an "unofficial ride-race" and it was up to the riders to maintain their own safety on the road.

Two groups (55 riders) set off to ride a shortened course in damp conditions.  It was a flat course that suited the sprinters who culd stay with the bunch.  Both groups did stay together with most riders doing their bit on the front, any attack was chased down fairly quickly.

The light rain on dirty roads had everyone looking like they had been sprayed with mud!!

Results:
Fastest Bunch:
1st Eddie Dawkins
2nd Bede Quill
3rd Mike White
4th Aaron Sinclair
5th Blake Tait-Jones
6th Robert Huisman

Fast Bunch:
1st Mike Tou
2nd Daryl Haggerty
3rd Jeremy Presbury
4th Bernie Bell
5th Tony McAra
6th Sam Kopae

Where's Wally?  The only rider to make a wrong turn!!! Wally you need a compass on your bike........
Punctures featured this week, three on course and three on the way home.
Maybe spot prizes of tubes would be more appropiate in the future....
