Last night saw the U13 Southland Road Championships held on the Wednesday Worlds circuit in almost perfect racing conditions.

A small field of four took to the start line for the 16km event. Corbin Strong got away on a hill just before the first corner and never looked back to take a comfortable win.

Ronan Ferguson, Taz O'Connell and Madeleine Gough worked well together around the remainder of the course.

Maddy led the boys out in the sprint for the line and crossed ahead of a tight battle between Ronan and Taz, with Taz just edging out Ronan on the line.
