National points race champion Hayden Strong will be making his return to overseas racing with the New Zealand Cycling Project - MitoQ team as they kick off their North American campaign.

With extensive experience racing in North America during his studes, inlcuding riding for the Texas Roadhouse team, as well as a season spent on Europe with the China Glory cycling team, Hayden brings very valuable experience to the team's lineup. It is a return to his roots of sorts for Hayden, who rode as a member of the team a couple of years ago. He will be joined on the campagin by Theo Gilbertson, Sam Ritchie, Oliver Watson-Palmer, and Ollie Grave, with other members of the team joining the core group for some races.

For Hayden it is the opportunity to take care of some unfinished business as he aims to show what he is capable of, not only in the cut-throat US criterium scene, but also in longer road races.

We were very fortunate to have Hayden present a talk on his unique cycling journey to the club earlier this year, and wish him all the best with his overseas campaign - we will definitely be following his progress with great interest.
