Training steps up a gear this week for businesses involved in the annual Cycling Southland organised Corporate Pursuit, as they take on the first round of the Roller Racing series.

Introduced last year to the competition the Lonestar Speights-sponsored event will see seven of the teams take on the 500m distance against the clock.

The heats will give businesses the first insight to their opposition as teams have no option but to give it their all on the fixed geared bikes.  Once such team taking on Tuesday nights heat one is last year's well performed Fire Service.  In fact two teams will go head to head to determine bragging rites.

Three heats will be held over the next three consecutive Tuesday evenings with the grand final held on Tuesday 1 July.

The first team sets the wheels turning at 7:00pm in the bar of the Lonestar Invercargill.
