A few tired folk took the night off racing after a big weekend with the New Year Carnival and Ascot Crits, followed by the Gore to Invercargill on Monday, but there were still an enthusiastic bunch there and some great racing.  Kylea Gough again rode strongly in Division 3, with Bronwyn Graham also having a good night. Derek Tan was the stand-out in Division 2, taking both the Points and Scratch Race amongst the other consistent performers in that grade, Tim Maynard putting in an excellent late burst to take the Point-a-Lap.

In Division 1, the visiting trio of Patrick Jones, Michael Astell and Gus Gillies – in Invercargill for the summer – held out the fast U17 boys for most of the night, as the younger lads spun their legs off on their tiny gears. It’s great to have these guys here for a few months and mixing it up in the racing and we warmly welcome them.

Thank you to Jo Stephens, Dave Beadle, Paul Sexton and Stu MacDonald for helping out, and see you all again next week!
