We welcomed back our resident super-stars Pieter Bulling and Cam Karwowski to Tuesday night racing this week and they gave us a glimpse of the form they have gained in last six onths over in Europe. These two boys are class acts! Their presence put a different spin on Division 1 racing, with Mathew Zenovich the only rider confidently mixing it up with them. Their return is fantastic for the development of all of our riders, with riders able to gauge where they are at comparative to these NZ superstars and see the work required to get to the top level, as well as the added bonus of faster and more aggressive racing.
With the grades re-shufffled a little, due the “upping of the anti” in Division 1, and the dreaded lurgy wiping out a number of regulars, there were only enough riders for two divisions on the night, so Division 2 was a much stronger field.
Neil Familton was a stand-out, with Gerald Paterson and Wally Kopae hot on his heels, and Kylea Gough having an outstanding ride in the Elimination race. There are many riders showing enormous improvement – keep up the great work!
