Major Events Co-ordinator
I am delighted to announce that I have appointed Sally Marr (nee Hayes) to the role of Major Events Co-ordinator.

Yunca Tour of Southland Billets Wanted
We are hoping to billet out a contingent of Australian riders who are returning to Southland this year to race the Yunca Junior Tour of Southland again after a hiatus in recent years. It will be fantastic to have Kurt Pollock and his crew back in the south and bolstering the competition in the racing fields.

If you are able to host a rider or two during the event, preferably within the same age group fields as your kids – with a view to a contra happening for future events in Australia, please contact Tomo glen.thomson@cyclingsouth.org.nz and we can confirm arrival and departure times nearer the event.

Volunteers Required for Tour of Southland

I am looking for some volunteers to assist with marshalling on certain stages of this year’s Tour of Southland cycle race.  There are stages where we need extra assistance to ensure the overall safety of the event.  A vehicle and fuel, flags and hi-viz vests will be provided.  The stages where assistance is required are stages 4,5,6 & 7 which is Thursday 7th, Friday 8th and Saturday 9th November.  If you are in a position to offer your assistance to this event, I would appreciate your call.

Bruce – mobile 027 431 8198 – email: bruce.ross@cyclingsouth.org.nz

So that is more than enough of an instalment when we have had sun, snow, gale force winds, earthquakes and then sun again – welcome to what an awesome earth week this is!

Take care out there and good luck Emily Paterson and Conor Shearing in your final 10 days of build-up after landing in Germany yesterday – go get ‘em!
