Gidday everyone for another week and it is our second last one in the office before we head off on a much looked forward to break!

Huge congratulations to all those who competed in our Southland Track Champs over the weekend – it was hot, fast and epic!

Big shout out to Rhylee Akeroyd and Mitchel Fitzsimons who both launched the campaign on Friday afternoon by both breaking their respective U15 national records for the U15 500m sprint. Both their rides were inspirational so big congrats to you both!

As for the riding over the weekend – well done everyone and it was again fantastic to have our out-of-town visitors here competing as well. Finally, massive thanks to all the coaches, helpers and volunteers who, once again, ensured the event ran smoothly and everyone was able to compete to their absolute best. It was an excellent practice run for the upcoming Track National events in the New Year. Check out the full results

Christmas Office Closure
The Cycling Southland office will be closed this year from Monday 18 December and we will be back on deck on Monday 15 January. The track will be open as per usual for anyone wanting to use their regular sessions until the Stadium’s last day on Friday 22 December. The Stadium then re-opens 7th January with reduced hours of 8am to 5pm daily and 9-5pm on Sundays, before returning to regular hours on 21 January.

Ideal Christmas Gifts
It could be a perfect stocking filler or Chrissie gift but cycling concession cards are the way to go – so see me at the office before we close next Friday if you are after any. Remember we have Eftpos in the office but cannot take credit cards.

Otherwise get out and into the festive spirit because Christmas is definitely imminent now!
