Hi cycling enthusiasts,
Welcome to another week and the last one for another month – where do they go!
Despite the longer nights and cooler, shorter days it’s still very busy in the world of cycling and upcoming events – so let’s get into the action.
Club meeting
There was a positive atmosphere at the club meeting held on Monday night. A big thanks to those who attended – we hope there was some value in it.
Mark outlined what changes have been introduced in the past 12 months in relation to pathways for riders and talked about some new initiatives being planned, including novice racing and the development of road/outdoor coaching for younger riders.
He also outlined some of the more than 30 various events or activities being juggled by the office.
Wider discussion included road progression for both junior and senior riders, the creation of road and track convenors for both junior and seniors, the creation of a road racing committee to continue the great work that’s gone in to developing the next road programme and booklet, how to encourage rec riders into club racing and wider opportunities for the organisation.
One of the messages that came out was an understanding that things are being worked on but there aren’t any instant fixes, but using the passion of our members certainly puts us on the right path.
