Hi team,
Welcome to another week and another month of the year – a fine start it is too in terms of warmth – it just means the lawns
will still be growing!
A bit on again today so into we get.

Corporate Pursuit
Team entries close this Friday, so make sure you rattle the crew into shape and get online to enter

Remember we still want to hear from anyone wanting to offer services in terms of coaching a team and also anyone wishing to offer some assistance during the event days on Friday 1 July, at 6pm for the Time Trial and again on Sunday 10 July for the main event. Let me know if you are keen [email protected]

The team debrief and team track booking night will be held in the Ulmer Lounge next Wednesday 11 May, from 7pm.

FROM THE GM’S DESK

Etiquette
Can all riders please remember the standards of behaviour that are expected both on the road and on the track. You are all ambassadors for both the club and the sport so foul language and poor riding behaviour won’t be tolerated. We can’t have a commissaire or race manager everywhere during a race so rider policing is expected too.
You all set the tone and level of behaviour and play a part in making sure that we’re all having fun out there.

Health & Safety
As many of you are aware, the legislation changed in April. The club’s new policies are gradually being completed and will be rolled out very soon. There will be a greater emphasis on health and safety in the future as we work our way through Risk Action Plans and the like.

But, I need to point out that every member has a responsibility around their own safety as well. There will be more information to come on this regarding forms etc, but if you have any questions please get in touch with me.

Club bikes
An inventory of our club bikes is underway and shows some disturbing things. There are wheels and frames left in the lock up that no one knows about, several bikes have significant damage, and we’re missing some bikes.

A reminder please – do not tamper with club bikes. If you see a damaged one, please let someone in the office know and put it in the lockup with a note on it. We can’t fix anything if we don’t know what’s wrong with it and I’m trying to keep a clear record of what bikes are in what condition.

Ferg is helping to get back into action as many bikes as possible so we don’t run short.

Thank you from Mark

Road Racing
This weekend is the Browns graded circuit and it is the 4th race in the Summer Points Series. Register online now

A reminder that if you are down for marshalling duties, it is your responsibility to organise a swap or replacement if you are racing or unable to be there. You can even ask for someone to cover you on our Facebook page – but these duties need to be fulfilled to ensure we are meeting STMS requirements and racing safely on public roads so your co-operation is appreciated.

Junior Gearing Policy
Confirming that this policy is now online for all to see Read all about it

Junior Carnival Squads

Wet Weather Rec Track Option
This booking is now back in the system for 11-12 On Saturdays and 10am-12 on Sundays. Just remember to sign in on the folder at the top of the track in the holder and leave your money or mark that you are using a concession card please. Honesty is imperative for these sessions to continue.

Old Tour of Southland Footage
Bruce is searching for old Tour of Southland VHS tapes and anything similar, which appears to have gone astray. If anyone has any knowledge or their own copies they could supply for regenerating on to DVD please contact him [email protected]  Thank you!

Finally have a blast Hamish Beadle who is currently in Belgium for a month-long camp with his Team Novo Nordisk. Also huge good luck to NZ U17 road member Hamish Keast who heads to Canberra to race their junior road tour this weekend with his Cycling NZ team. Also to Corbin Strong who is also now travelling over to race as an independent. Go fast everyone!

Reminder please get any outstanding club road national jerseys and Track Nationals skinsuits returned to the office – loads still out there please and I have your names.

Have a great week!
