Hello everyone and hope you are keeping warm during this instant cold spell that was turned on when daylight saving finished!
As our Commonwealth Games track cyclists bask in the glory of their fantastic efforts on the Gold Coast (yes it was hot there!), we have a dozen inspired riders making their way to Wairarapa this week – along with almost 600 other riders – for the Vantage Windows and Doors Age Group Road National Championships being held from Friday 20 to Sunday 22 April. Best of luck to U15s Caira Kelly, Jaz McLeod and Ronan Shearing, U17s Rhylee Akeroyd, Mitchel Fitzsimons, Navarh Brotherston and Morgan Borrie, U19s La’chlan Robertson, Conor Shearing, Hamish Keast, Corbin Strong and U23 Sam Miller. Thanks to Nathan Shearing and Brendon McLeod for managing the crew while they are there. We look forward to seeing you do your best and coming away with some mighty fine results.

Calder Stewart Elite Race Series
It was another huge weekend for all our rider involved in the Calder Stewart Elite Race Series with two big days on the West Coast. It was another gutsy effort from Transport Engineering Velo South’s Matt Zenovich who lost the leader’s jersey on day one of racing and then regained it again on day two. Check out the full report and two days results
Finally massive well done to our U17s Rhylee Akeroyd and Mitchel Fitzsimons who have been named in Cycling New Zealand’s 12-strong Under 17 team heading to the Canberra Junior Tour next weekend. Ruhylee and Mitchel will be joined by Lucy Thomson, Lucy Buckeridge, Liam Regan, Jordan Ryan Kidd, Maddison Douglas, Henrietta Christie, Jaydn Harris, Andrew Matthews, Max Williams and Ella Wyllie! Enjoy this great tour champs!
With the recent price hike with Stadium costs increasing, it is a very worthwhile cause to head to https://imagineinvercargill.nz/ and support the request for additional Stadium funding – so get on to it before submissions close at 5pm on Friday!
So that is it – keeping it short and sweet this week!
Keep warm everyone
