Hi everyone,

Hope you had your gloves on this morning but beautiful sunshine follows!

Well the 10th Anniversary Corporate Pursuit kicked into top gear with the Time Trials on Friday night and some blistering times there were too.

This Sunday 28 June is the main event so head along with action starting from 9am. Admission is $2 for adults and school students free, so it’s a cheap day of entertainment for sure and there’s a load of spot prizes for best dressed, loudest cheering in the crowd and much more. Meanwhile, tonight is the finals of the Lone Star-Speights Roller Racing Series so head along from 7pm to the Lone Star and cheer the teams on – again it’s great entertainment.

Holiday Programme
These school holidays we will be holding a holiday programme for those aged 10-15 on Wednesday 8 and 15 of July. There will be four one hour sessions from 1-2pm and 2-3pm both days and the cost is $6 per session. Register your kids now at [email protected] or phone 219 9325.

Winter Road Racing Programme
The Winter Road Racing programme is just being finalised and racing will start again on Saturday 4 July with the Rimu Wednesday Worlds Graded Circuit. Meanwhile you can register here for the first race.

Cycling Southland Prizegiving Tickets Now On Sale
Tickets for our club prizegiving being held at the Ascot on Thursday 9 July are now available from the office for $15 each. Make sure you come along and help celebrate another fantastic year of achievements. Doors will open at 6.30pm and formalities will follow at 7pm.

Oceania entries will open in early July but meanwhile the official invitation and programme has now been released for our 8 to 11 October event. View the details here

Junior Division Raffle Fundraiser
Junior Division is offering raffle cards of 20 tickets at $2 a ticket with five major prizes up for grabs, including a whole processed pig with delivery courtesy of the O’Connell family, a trailer of firewood courtesy Peter Grandiek, a haircut, colour and blow wave at Les Sheikh Hair Design, a three month gym membership at World Health and Fitness and a side of lamb.

These tickets can be collected from the office and need to be returned with full money to Julie Knipe – or another person on the Junior Div fundraising committee, or Melissa at the Cycling Office by Friday 26 June at the latest please – good luck with another great fundraiser! The prizes will be drawn at the Corporate Pursuit major event on Sunday 28 June. 

Yunca Junior Tour and ILT Junior Track Carnival

Lost Property
There’s been a fair bit of lost property accumulating in the office from down at the track including black framed glasses, black – as new – cycling shoes, hoodies and cycling tops. Please swing by if you’ve lost stuff lately and collect it.

There’s a fair few track bikes being wheeled and dealed around the Corporate Pursuit event so don’t forget we have our own web page dedicated for this purpose – You can view this here – just send details and an image to me at [email protected] and I will get it online for you.

Great record-breaking work to Eddie and a great silver result for Natasha for putting on some mighty fine results again in the sprints at Trexlertown over the weekend Read more here – the male sprinters now head on to Europe for further racing opportunities while the women and development team remain in the US. It’s a tremendous way to be building into Rio for sure!

So keep warm out there – one cracker of the start to today for sure.
