Date: Tuesday, 26 June 2018

Greetings everyone,
Hope you all plan to head down to the Architecture Unlimited Corporate Pursuit event this Sunday with racing from 12.30pm to 4.30pm. Spectator entry is just a gold coin donation and we promise there will be some fierce action among those vying for ‘bragging rights’ again this year. See the Time Trial results from last Friday night. We will also be having an Allcomers record attempt just after 3.30pm from some of our blistering young centre riders so be sure to head along with your cheering lungs intact to give everyone the utmost encouragement that you can! While entry numbers are down a little, they have still been putting in some awesome commitment and effort. Good luck to all our teams again this year – hope you come out of the blocks fast on Sunday!

Winter riding
If you or your child is riding on the road at any time - particularly after track sessions - can you please ensure you have bright lights and reflective clothing!
We get enough complaints about cyclists (not always our members though) breaking various rules without having to worry about our riders heading home from the velodrome dressed in dark clothing and without lights.
Ensure you set an example on the bike and, more importantly, can arrive home alive.

Road Racing
Final tweaks have been made on the next road racing calendar, which launches this Saturday 30 June, with a 1.30pm mass race start on the Rimu circuit. View the full calendar

Spare bikes?
Do you have a small frame track or road bike gathering dust? Or adult sizes? We’re regularly asked for bikes to hire to help young riders in to the sport – and have noticed a big lift in interest in road bikes. We have some lease bikes available, but can’t really loan bikes from the fleet as they’re needed for group sessions. If you have something that you’d like to donate, please get in touch so we can help someone fall in love with the sport.

Big Bike Film Night
Back by popular demand the Big Bike Film Night will return to the St James Theatre, Gore on Wednesday 27 June, 6pm, and SIT Centrestage Theatre, in Invercargill, Thursday 28 June, at 6pm. Showcasing a collection of short movies that have everything a Bike Centric audience could want - action, drama, humour and plenty of inspiration. This is a scintillating line-up of cycling films from New Zealand and around the world. Get your tickets online

So that’s more than enough from us for another week – keep toasty warm and good luck to all our Architecture Unlimited Corporate Pursuit teams for the final push towards the big Sunday event!
