Happy Tuesday again everyone,
Well some long-awaited rain has arrived but hopefully it keeps at bay tomorrow when we are out at Myross Bush for the Otago Southland Schools Road Champs. Not bad entries across the board and the kids always love the racing so it should be a great day again this year.

Stonewood Homes Gore to Invercargill Classic
The country’s oldest running classic club race is on again next weekend – Saturday 6 April and entries are now open

With $1000 prize money up for grabs, courtesy of race sponsor Stonewood Homes, the winner takes $500 and the fatest time also nets $500.

Riders meet in the Gore Town and Country Club car park for a 1.30pm race start, finishing in Racecourse Road about an hour and a half later. Be in to win and support this – the 88th Gore to Invercargill Classic Handicap race!

Wednesday Worlds
With borderline sunsets and dusk setting in earlier, it is a suggestion to sensibly you have a light on board – at least for the ride home after the race for the final couple of hit-outs before daylight saving ends. Just thinking of everyone’s safety first.

Architecture Unlimited Track Challenge
Entries are now open for the 2019 work challenge, including a business battle and a social but serious competition. Check out the details and don’t forget about the “free try the track session” tomorrow (Wednesday, from 6-7pm, for anyone thinking about giving it a go and wanting to experience cycling on the boards first.

Coaches
We are looking for anyone interested in being involved with coaching our regular age group squads – would be nice to have some female input too!
This doesn’t have to be a full-on placement, but it is an opportunity to dip your toes into a new experience. Let Glen know at the office if you are keen or event thinking about it glen.thomson@cyclingsouth.org.nz

Cycling Southland Fundraising Committtee
We are looking to establish an all-encompassing fundraising committee for the general club and are looking for eager, creative people with ideas and enthusiasm to get things done. If you are interested in becoming part of a group that benefits the club in general, don’t be shy in coming forward and let me know at the office.

Southland Track Champs Medals
Remember the outstanding Track Champs medals are now available to collect from the office next time you are swinging by.

Southland Skinsuits
A reminder to make sure you return any hired skinsuits to the office please before they get put somewhere they are forgotten about. If you leave in the office please make sure you put your name on it so I know who has returned it thank you.

Licences
I have a handful of licences from the Age Group Track Nationals to return so if you haven’t got yours back yet – please swing by and collect.

Vital Signs Fight for Yellow Tour
Huge good luck to our organising committee, volunteers and all riders in this weekend’s inaugural Vital Signs Fight for Yellow 2 Day Tour. We know it will be a huge success after all the work that has gone into it and everyone will have a blast – enjoy it to the max!

Finally, well done to those who went up and raced in Le Race in Canterbury last weekend – tough ride and some had not a bad day on the bike. Congrats Navarh Brotherston who finished 3rd in the 17 and under ride, along with Hunter Gough who came in a respectable 7th.
