Hi everyone and hope you are all getting through the school holidays smoothly if you have the kids home at the moment,
There is plenty of news to share this week so I will just stuck into it.
A reminder that the Velodrome and Stadium will be closed tomorrow for Anzac Day – so enjoy the day off and lest we forget all the Kiwis killed in war and honour those returned servicemen and women.
Firstly, huge congratulations to everyone who travelled to Carterton in the Wairarapa last week for the Age Group Road Nationals. There were some fantastic personal efforts and many near-misses for the podium, with the exception of Mitchel Fitsimons who brought home the silver in the road race. Huge thanks to Nathan Shearing for managing the team and to his support crew of Lance Spencer, Brendan Akeroyd, Brendon McLeod, Stephen Keast and Corbin Strong for the time and effort they put in offering advice and support. Great team work everyone Check out the full results

This squad will restart on Thursday 24 May 4-6pm.
Finally, a massive thank you to those riders and parents who came down to lend a hand at the Lakers House of Travel BDO breakfast demo display on Saturday morning – it was really appreciated by the club with the generous donation we received from Lakers for the event and also all those in attendance as guests at the BDO conference function – Great stuff. We will be after a hand with another massive NZ Dairy Conference Group who will be visiting our venue for a fun morning of learning on the boards and little race events on Saturday 12 May, so if you are free to lend a hand that morning with getting bottoms on bikes and helping with around 100 people here do let me know – it will be another great fundraising event.
So that’s it from me so keep warm and dry and enjoying the final road race this weekend. Good luck and have a fab week ahead!
