Feedback from CNZ
We have received great feedback following the week’s racing including this: “On behalf of us all here at Cycling New Zealand and Cycling New Zealand Road and Track we wanted to say a massive for hosting the Elite Track Champs. We appreciate the pre work and the commitment of resource and time during the event by not only yourselves but your volunteer crew.
“From the informal feedback we have received from the riders and managers it can be deemed a very successful event so a massive thanks to your contribution. “

Price increase
Due to its well-documented financial pressures, the Stadium has advised that from April 2 there will be a $10 (excl GST) increase in the hourly cost of hiring the track (and courts).
Unfortunately his increase has to be passed on to users so there will be an increase in the rider-per-hour price and concession cards. This will also have a significant impact on our events going forward too. The pricings are being confirmed by the executive and all details will be announced once finalised.
Rules session
Commissaire Ian Densie is hosting a rules seminar at 7pm on Monday (March 5) in Legends Lounge 2 for all riders attending the Age Group Track Champs. He’ll cover off some simple points that can make a difference and help riders gain additional knowledge around what they can and can’t do.
All U15 & U17 riders are asked to attend, with all Masters riders taking part in Age Groups encouraged to come along too.
This follows on from the Drug Free Sport seminar we ran recently, which proved invaluable for those riders who were tested during the event.
Calder Stewart Series
This year’s race series will again include an U19/Elite men’s Southland team racing for the second year under the Transport Engineering South-Team Velo South and they will be looking to improve on last year’s fantastic debut when they earned second place in the U19 classification. God luck boys and keep an eye on their progress on their Facebook page - Transport Engineering Southland / Velosouth
Secondary School Road Champs
Is anyone able to help marshall for our Otago-Southland Secondary School Road Champs as we have to take it to a road circuit due to a booking at Teretonga. We’d need you on Wednesday 21 March from about 9.30am to 2.30pm please – let me know if you are free – most appreciated.
Ride to Dunedin|
A ride to Dunedin is wanted on Friday this week for La’chlan Robertson with one bike with the hope that someone could bring the bike back as he is going up to Christchurch afterwards. Contact me if you may be able to help out please and I’ll put you in touch.
So that’s it for now and we look forward to catching everyone up at the Age Group Track Champs next week.
Take care until then
