After a bad week it was good to have fine weather for Saturday's Thornbury 75km graded race.

Daryl Johnstone will rack up his 10th Corporate Pursuit when Cycling Southland's annual business house track competition gets underway in June.

April is supposed to mean longer nights and Autumn but we’ve been sprung a wintery surprise this week! 

A small contingent of southland riders took on the 2015 edition of the Te Awamutu Junior Tour. Under 17 riders Corbin Strong, Sam Miller and Hamish Keast along with under 19 riders Hayden Strong and Tom Sexton.

15 hardy riders turned up for the 80km handicap race which started and finished at the Gorge Road Country Club. A strong breeze and hilly conditions confronted the riders which left in 4 bunches for the two lap circuit race.

Canterbury's Richard Lawson made a big play on the final day of the Tour de Lakes cycle race but Luke Macpherson held on to take the crown.

New Zealand will host arguably its biggest ever cycling event with a UCI Track World Cup to be staged here in December, it has been announced by Cycling New Zealand.

Well it’s a short week and the Easter Bunny is bouncing with excitement as Dunny and his team work tirelessly to launch another fantastic Vital Signs Tour de Lakes around Lakes, Central and Fiordland this weekend.

Sixty young cycling enthusiasts descended on Teretonga on Tuesday for the annual Otago-Southland Secondary School Road Championships with a strong team from James Hargest College ready to the battle to retain the overall points trophy from 2014.

Wowee folks – what an outstanding result overall for our junior and masters representatives in Cambridge last week – you all absolutely outdid yourselves with your individual and team efforts and the overall points tally to bring home our beloved National Points Shield for a record 8^th year in a row!

Eight medals, including six titles and three national records made for a successful New Zealand age group track championships for the Andrews family.
